May 20, 2010 – Former Stamford Mayor and current Democratic Candidate for Governor Dan Malloy today announced the formal support of an additional 11 Democratic Town Committees. To date, Malloy’s campaign has been endorsed by 50 DTCs, as well as 51 DTC Chairs, more than 100 elected officials, and numerous labor organizations representing tens of thousands of active and retired workers throughout the state.
“We’re very excited to have this kind of momentum as we head into the Convention this weekend,” said Campaign Manager Dan Kelly. “Given the resources Dan’s opponent has thrown into this race already, we’re fully expecting a tough, hard-fought Convention. We’re also expecting to win. If we can come away with 55% of the vote on Saturday, we’re confident that the vote of support from the Party will be indicative of the support ahead.”
Concluded Kelly, “And, now that Dan has qualified for public financing and will have access to up to $8.5 million for his campaign, we’re also confident that we’ll have more than enough resources of our own to compete and to win in August and in November.”
Democratic Town Committees announcing their endorsement of Malloy today include:
Ø Darien
Ø East Haddam
Ø Ellington
Ø Harwinton
Ø Madison
Ø Norfolk
