On Thursday, we’ll be just 33 days away from the primary election. That’s right, just 33 days. We’re shifting into high gear as we begin our final push to primary day.

 College graduation is a milestone and an achievement.  But for many recent graduates in Connecticut, it’s also frightening.  Like other young professionals across the country, they find themselves asking, “where are the jobs?”

Today is the anniversary of one of the most tragic disasters in our state’s history.  On April 23, 1987, the L'Ambiance Plaza construction site collapsed, taking the lives of 28 Connecticut workers.  It was a heartbreaking accident, one that most Connecticut residents vividly remember to this day.

These days, it can be easy to let the environment slip downward on our list of priorities.  After all, when people are out of work, struggling to make mortgage payments or to buy groceries, awareness and appreciation of Connecticut's natural resources simply might not rank.  It's understandable, but it's also unfortunate and even a little ironic.  On this Earth Day, I want to rem

The timing and the setting were fitting, and even rather serendipitous.

Earlier today, Zogby International released a poll which found that Connecticut voters overwhelmingly support public financing, with 79 percent of respondents supporting the Citizens’ Elections Program as described.

On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor the men and women who made enormous sacrifices for our country and to pay tribute to the brave men and women who tirelessly and selflessly serve overseas. We pray for their well being as they give of themselves on behalf of their families and friends at home.

As you've no doubt heard, Governor Rell announced yesterday that she will not seek another term. I'd like to thank her for her years of service to the State of Connecticut and I wish her and her family all the best.

Few of us will ever forget where we were eight years ago today. I was at home when the first tower was hit, and I remember the shock and confusion we all shared at that moment. When the second tower was hit, I was in my office, and all speculation was erased.
